A lot.Ģ1 Savage is one of the most boring, monotone rappers I have ever heard. It’s a bit slower and darker than usual but Jay still has endless bars, even if they are about him cheating on Beyoncé or being honest about his feelings toward Kanye West. "4:44" is Jay-Z’s open diary over a myriad of riveting sample-heavy beats by NO ID. The only people I find that like it are the golden agers (35-45) and even they are split because of the content. There’s no bounce or trap tracks so the younger crowd isn’t into it. It’s soulful so the hipsters are completely puzzled. This is one of the few albums that no one can agree on. You are either going to hate "4:44" or love it. About half way through it teeters out a bit (too much trap) but it’s worth a listen, especially if you’re a diehard Twista fan like Bizzon. The once “fastest rapper alive” oddly sounds great over more contemporary trap music. As usual, I will ever-so-quickly give you the business on what’s hot (or not) in these streets.Īt 43 Twista is proving he can still hang with the millennials. While we were busy reviewing shows a few albums of importance dropped. Now that Summerfest is over we can get back to normal life.
